Arsenal are planning a surprising bid for Chelsea wonder kid

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are planning a surprising bid for Chelsea wonder kid Nathaniel Chalobah.
The 18-year-old has played a key part in former Blues legend Gianfranco Zola’s high-flying Watford side during his loan spell this season.
However, the versatile player still finds himself far down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge due to the vast amount of quality that occupy his position in this moment in time.
Opportunity
With this in mind, Arsenal see fit to acquire his services with the offer of first-team opportunities to tempt the youngster away from Fulham Road and to switch to North London, according to the newspaper.
Boss Arsene Wenger has already established a young and upcoming British contingent at the club and with Chalobah showing positive signs of improvement and quality, the Frenchman could be keen to add him to his options.
Despite this, the England U21 international is still highly regarded at the European champions and the Gunners will have to produce a substantial offer in order to tempt the club into selling one of their important players for the future, the newspaper claims.
Contract
Arsenal could snap the teen up on a free transfer next summer however if the player doesn’t decide to renew his contract with the Blues.
It is evident that Chalobah has a sense of loyalty to Chelsea having been at the club for a large chunk of his life, which will make it hard to tempt him away.
He was born in Sierra Leone, which are his parents’ nationality, but has pledged his allegiance to England having spent the majority of his life there and is tipped to be a huge success on the international scene.
The Freetown-born star has played at virtually every youth level for the country and has been captain in most occasions which shows signs of leadership at his young age.
To add to his growing reputation, he was named England’s Youth Player of the Year at the inaugural FA England Awards.
His form at Vicarage Road has been what has led to Chalobah becoming a fixture in the Under-21 set-up, having made 27 appearances for the Hornets and netting four times despite his defensive nature.
