Frank Lampard is set to sign a new contract next week.

Frank Lampard is set to sign a new Chelsea contract next week.
There has been widespread speculation all season that the 34-year-old midfielder would leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the current campaign, but it now appears as though he will be staying in west London.
Lampard’s double in last weekend’s win at Aston Villa took his tally to 203 goals for the club, beating Bobby Tambling’s all-time record, and cementing his legendary status.
And now he is poised to continue his Chelsea career by putting pen to paper on a one-year contract extension.
And that will do nothing to quash speculation that Jose Mourinho will return to the club as manager in the summer, as it seems certain the ‘Special One’ has played his part in convincing the Stamford Bridge hierarchy that he wanted Lampard as part of his squad next term
