There is a high probability that the Chelsea Starting Eleven featured in the picture above will not be the one that actually starts against West Brom tomorrow.
Frank Lampard and John Terry are confirmed absentees.
Ryan Bertrand may just get the nod ahead of Ashley Cole, even if Cole is fit. Chelsea play Juventus, away, on Tuesday. Cole may well be rested tomorrow and recalled against Juventus.
With games against Juventus and Manchester City looming, Roberto Di Matteo might consider resting a few players and employ squad rotation. That would obviously depend on the fatigue level of the players.
If Oscar is given a rest then either Moses or Ramires could start on the right-wing. If Ramires starts on the right wing then Romeu could get another look in for the double pivot. This is very unlikely to happen, though.
Another possibility is that, Marin starts on the left wing and Hazard starts on the right wing with Mata playing in the #10 role behind the striker.
Marin had a good game for the U21s this week. If RDM feels like experimenting then Marin could get a start. Fresh legs wouldn’t hurt Chelsea’s attacking options.
A more likely scenario would be one where, Ramires and Mikel start in the double pivot. Oscar gets rested and Moses starts on the right wing. Marin could get a look in, if the result is going Chelsea’s way, later on in the game.
This game may not feature too many goals. Chelsea’s leaky defence will be put to test again. Chelsea’s fatigued attack will have to work over time against West Brom’s tight defence.
