Chelsea after a 29 year-old Striker

German striker Stefan Kiessling is desperately looking for a move to the Premier League this summer and Chelsea have been offered the opportunity to sign the Bayer Leverkusen hitman on the cheap.

The 29 year-old was touted to arrive at West Ham during the winter transfer window but the proposed move fell through. Kiessling is still keen on making a switch to the Premier League and his agent has reached out to top English clubs, with Chelsea on the top of the list, revealed the Metro.

Kiessling started out with German club Nuremburg before making the move to Leverkusen in 2006. The prolific striker has netted 119 goals in 339 appearances for Leverkusen and he is now looking for a  new challenge, preferably in England.

Chelsea could use the option to purchase the German striker as they look for a replacement for the underperforming Fernando Torres. The 6’3” forward will also add an aerial threat to their front line and although Abramovich is primarily chasing Radamel Falcao this summer, he would not mind widening his options to allow Chelsea to compete in all competitions.

Dynamo Kiev and Borussia Dortmund have also been credited with interest in Kiessling, but Chelsea would not mind meeting Leverkusen’s price of £6 million to improve their attacking ranks.
