Chelsea are hoping to wrap up an £8million deal for Serbian wonder kid Lazar Markovic when the transfer window opens.
The 18-year-old has been a revelation for Partizan Belgrade this season and after bagging six goals in 12 games, Europe's top clubs are forming an orderly queue for his signature.
Reports claim that Chelsea are leading it and will beat off competition from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Inter Milan to land the youngster, who has just earned his first cap for Serbia.
Chelsea will pay an initial £8million for the player but it could rise to almost double that with a number of clauses also included in the deal that will take him to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are also targeting a number of other signings with Bayer Leverkusen's Andre Schurrle, Atletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao, Gonzalo Higuain of Real Madrid and Newcastle's Demba Ba all potential targets.
