Jose Mourinho could make a sensational return

Following Pep Guardiola’s official move to Bayern Munich last week, Roman Abramovich has been forced to review his options to fill the managerial vacancy at Stamford Bridge. And it appears that former manager Jose Mourinho could make a sensational return to the club he left in 2007 after the Daily Star revealed that the Portuguese has rather surprisingly maintained close relations with the Blues owner despite having been unceremoniously sacked by the Russian billionaire.
The Real Madrid manager has reportedly kept in touch with Abramovich through regular phone calls and text messages. Mourinhi is also said to be in contact with experienced Blues players including John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Petr Cech, making him a viable option to fill the vacancy in a few months time.

Abramovich has reportedly consulted the Portuguese on football matters on several occasions and the Russian owner could consider handing the helm of the club back to him at the end of this season. Mourinho’s time at the Santiago Bernabeu seems to be coming to an end as he fails to maintain control over his players in a season that has already taken a turn for the worst for Los Blancos.
Rafa Benitez has not impressed in his time as interim manager and Mourinho could make a move back to Chelsea over the summer. The soon-to-be 50 year-old is a clear favourite to take over the managerial position and Blues fans will hope that his next stint does not end as abruptly and sourly as the last one
