Chelsea to replace captain John Terry

Chelsea are close to securing a £20million deal for Brazilian defender Dede, a move that will disappoint Liverpool and Manchester United, according to theExpress.
The 24 year old has been the subject of interest from both Liverpool and United in the past, and his club have reportedly encouraged interest from major European teams.
Vasco Da Gama are suffering from a financial crisis, and star asset Dede will be sold this summer in order to raise funds.
Dede
Dede is one of the most impressive defenders playing in Brazil right now, and has been tipped to represent his country when they host next year’s World Cup.
An aerially dominant force, thanks to his height; he stands at over 6′ 3″, Dede is also renowned for his robust tackling, and composure on the ball.
Chelsea have at times looked fragile defensively, but they may have secured a coup if they can sign the player nicknamed Dedéckenbauer.
Replacement
Chelsea’s interest in Dede suggests a desire to replace club captain John Terry, who is now 32 and has one year remaining on his contract.
The former England International has increasingly been used as a substitute this season, and has made a mere 11 Premier League appearances this season.
A series of injuries and off-field controversies have led to calls for the three-time Premier League winner to move into a coaching role so as to allow the club to replenish their defensive stability with younger replacements.
