young right back has signed contract

Chelsea’s promising young right back Todd Kane has signed a new contract with the club which will keep him with the Blues until 2016, the official site has reported.
Kane has clearly impressed Chelsea enough to earn this contract, after putting in a string of top performances in recent weeks while on loan at Lancashire club Blackburn Rovers.
And the Blues will be hoping this academy product can continue to develop, with an eye perhaps on whether Kane can ever make the step up into the first team.

The Chelsea FC official website was full of praise for the Blues’ young right back.
They said: “Quick, strong in the tackle and a genuine goal threat when shooting from distance, Kane has been with Chelsea since under-8s and is an England under-19 international.”
The defender has also been a leading light in Chelsea’s reserve and youth team squads, being part of the reserve squad that won the 2011 national league, and an ‘integral member’ of the FA Youth Cup winning side last season.
However, Kane is yet to make the step up to the Chelsea first team, but with this new contract in place his future at Stamford Bridge his future does look bright, and it perhaps depends on who will be the Chelsea manager in the future that gives Kane a chance.
He’s impressed enough at Blackburn to have his loan deal twice renewed, meaning he will stay at Ewood Park until the end of the season, and had also played a few games for Preston North End earlier in the season.
At 19 years old, Kane still has several years to develop into a top full back, so it’s unlikely we will see him in a Chelsea shirt anytime soon.
But the Blues, and perhaps England, will be really hoping he can fulfil his potential.
