Jose Mourinho is set to return to Chelsea, according to the Daily Star, but it could come at a price with reported demands of new players to add to the current playing staff.
It is thought that a deal has already been agreed to match the £12million a year contract that he currently receives at Real Madrid, with the Blues set to activate his £10million escape clause.
However, with an already high cost being accumulated to bring the ‘Special One’ home, there could be an increased expenditure involved with the Portuguese man relying on the club’s hierarchy to back him in the transfer market.
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Andre Schurrle is already close to making the move to Stamford Bridge, according to the newspaper, and the club are also in the hunt for Atletico Madrid hit man Radamel Falcao, who is valued at £50million.
Despite the impending transfers, it is rumoured by the paper that Mourinho is keen on securing the services of Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk, along with midfielder Sami Khedira and defender Fabio Coentrao, who both currently play under him at Real Madrid.
If all transfers were to come to fruition, club owner Roman Abramovich could see an outgoings sheet totalling more than a whopping £200million, according to the newspaper.
Chelsea look hell bent on clearing out the old guard at the club, with Frank Lampard set to leave at the end of the season, and Ashley Cole nearing the end of his contract, along with club captain John Terry.
With what has been a relatively unsuccessful season at Stamford Bridge, it could convince Mr. Abramovich to splash the cash in order to rekindle the glory days.
