“no chance” David Luiz

Chelsea star is a transfer target for both Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, but Stamford Bridge side have no intention of selling.

Chelsea have no intention of selling Brazilian central defender David Luiz, according to the Daily Telegraph, in the face of recent interest from both FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The 26 year-old has developed into one of the best players in his position in the world, and his performances at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup for his country were highly impressive.

Brazil beat Spain 3-0 in the final, with Luiz able to keep a number of Barca stars at bay, with a stupendous goal-line clearance from Pedro at 1-0 keeping the Selecao in front.

That committed approach, coupled with Luiz’s ability to anchor the midfield, technique and athleticism will all certainly have impressed both Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino and Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, who is recently reported to have entered the race to sign the Brazilian.

However, two weeks ago, Jose Mourinho told the assembled press on the west London club’s Asian tour that there was “no chance” David Luiz would leave Chelsea.
Despite Bayern Munich entering the race, the Blues’ position has not changed and Chelsea do not want to allow one of their prized assets leave Stamford Bridge. The Brazil international, who tweeted “London, home sweet home”, was one of six players who reported for pre-season training yesterday having had extended time off due to the Confederations Cup.
