Schwarzer compared his excitement to that of a "a little kid again".

Mark Schwarzer has given his first official interview since signing for Chelsea and the Australian has spoken of how excited he is to start his new challenge with his new West London club. Speaking to Chelsea TV, Schwarzer compared his excitement to that of a "a little kid again".
"I'm just so excited, I'm like a little kid again. Its a phenomenal opportunity to play at such a hugely successful and big club and one of the best clubs in the UK and I would say one of the best clubs in the world. Just a very exciting moment for me."
While Schwarzer may have been Fulham's number one for the past several years, he will face stiff competition at Chelsea and finds himself behind Czech Republic International Petr Cech. The Australian seems confident about the competition for places and thinks it will only help both him and Cech improve as players.
"Yea its part of the whole thing. Its part of coming to Chelsea Football Club - the opportunity to work alongside Petr and try to push him as far as possible. You know I think I can help him improve as a goalkeeper. Without a doubt he'll help me improve and the coaching staff here, and particularly to the young keepers as well, I think I've got a lot to offer to the those guys."
Schwarzer isn't ready to accept the fact that he may not be first-choice, however, as he expects to compete and play as much as possible.
"As a player I've still got aspirations to do well and play for my country and also play as many games as possible."
