There has been some reports on the Daily Mail website which have claimed Chelsea will get rid of up to nine players in the summer transfer window, as they plan a massive revamping of the squad and manager.
While Roman Abramovich gets out his cheque book again to sign new, world class players, others will have to make way.
With the restrictions of Financial Fair Play looming, and
Champions League football not yet guaranteed, Chelsea will have to slash
the wage bill and trim the fat on their bloated squad. (Daily Mail)
The likes of Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres, Marko Marin, Florent
Malouda, Paolo Ferreira, Yossi Benayoun, Henrique Hilario, Jeffrey Bruma
and Michael Essien will all make way in the summer as Abramovic looks
to bring in the quality he feels will add to the squad.
However, some of the names on the list are a surprise as they are
good squad members and just need some game time to prove they can cut it
at the very top
